Fun Times

Tomorrow should be awesome, I'm going to Oakridge mall with some friends to see a movie and chill after, I haven't gone out with friends in a while because of finals and homework, I'm happy it's winter break and I can actually have some fun.

Geometry Final

Was really long and hard! I spent all period working on it. I'm anxious to see my score, I took my time, as you can see, to revise and make sure I did my best. By far the hardest test of all.

........!

I'm so happy with my final results so far. I've gotten good results. I was really worried about the Chemistry Final especially because molar mass was on it, but I still got a good grade, I really don't understand molar mass.! The only final I'm worried about now is Geometry./=

Geografía

I really like learning about different places around the world. One day I would like to go to Rome, Italy and Tokyo, Japan, there's something about those cities that attract me.

Packed

This weekend me and some of my friends went to the Great Mall and there were so many people there.! You'd think there giving things away. We went into a couple of stores and we couldn't handle the immense amount of people, so we ended up leaving.

Christmas in the Park

I went to Christmas in the Park today and it was really full. I went with my little brother and mom it boring, especially since they have the same displays there, the best thing there was the hot chocolate, which was excellent, because it was really cold.

Neck Problems

I've had a stiff neck since monday and it was really bad, I couldn't turn my neck to the right because it hurt. I went to the doctor's yesterday and he told me I probably slept crooked, she turned it slowly and I guess unstiffed it? is that a word? Going to the doctor resulted in me feeling way better and being able to turn my neck with less pain.

Ocean

The ocean is a real cool place, the sound of water crashing onto the rocks relaxes me and I am fascinated by the reoccuring waves that wash up to shore. I'm in my element at the beach. I can't wait to go again.

Christmas Spirit

It's almost christmas, I really like the vibe and events that go on during this time, I like to go to Christmas in the Park in downtown and have Churros and Hot Chocolate. [= I also enjoy the festive lights of people who decorate their houses. Christmas time, by far is one of my favorite times of the year.

Good Day

Yesterday was an awesome day, I went to the movies, saw some old friends, ate at an Italian restaurant (Bucca Di Beppo) and went to bed, what a perfect day.

You forgot the Orange Juice™ ]=

Yesterday, in French class we had a French breakfast, which was croissants and a choice of nutella (a chocolate spread) or jam to go on top of the croissant. When we were about to eat Mrs. Barbu gave us a lecture that we had forgotten to bring orange juice, she said that we were irresponsible and that last year the same thing happened, people forgot to bring things and she was going to cancel the breakfast and give the croissants away as a punishment of our irresponsibility. Anyways, after her spiel of words, she still let us eat the croissants. What an interesting class.

To Kill a Mocking Bird

I'm blogging to voice my opinion on the book To Kill a Mocking Bird. At first I didn't like the book at all but now, in part 2 the plot is much better with more interesting things happening, showing new ways characters are carrying themselves.

Crazy Kids!!

Today, I went to Chuck E. Cheese with my little brother for his birthday, everything was cool until this hella hyper girl challenged me to an air hockey game, I beat her, then my brother and several other people. She kept yelling, screaming, and jumping saying that I sucked and that she's not really trying. She was so annoying, I feel bad for her siblings. After the air hockey incident she found me at another game and was telling me that her real name was Tom and she was a boy. I was like "what?>,..umm..okay" and I left to go sit down, to eat. Only one way to describe this kid, which is crazy!.

Mrs. Barbu

My French teacher is so, how can I put this, odd.! She always yells at us and tells us to grow up because where in High school, I agree with her but she wastes too much time with the immature freshmen in the class. She always reflects, or better yet compares things about life in France to life in the U.S. Another thing she does that cracks me up is when she yells at this kid in class and tells him grow up "young boy or young gentleman" It makes me laugh by the way she says it.  I've heard people say that she is much nicer to her French 3-4 students.

Procrastination

I had so much homework this weekend, that I just finished today, I was basically doing homework all day, I always end up doing my homework last minute because when I get home from school on Friday I'm too lazy to do anything and Saturday I always find something to do. I know I procrastinate, but I feel like I accomplished a lot today.

Weekend

This weekend I'm going to my dad's house in Morgan Hill and on Saturday we're going to dinner, to celebrate my older brother's birthday, he's turning 21 (he can drink now!). I keep telling him that every time I see him, I'm like "It's almost your birthday, your a day closer to being able to drink, legally." He just laughs and says "I know but me turning 21 is not going to mean I'm going to go crazy and drink all the time." I don't believe him, but that's his business if he does.

Chemistry

My chemistry class is impossible! It's so hard to get a A in my class. I've been trying so hard but my teachers tests are harder than benchmarks. I'm so close to having a 4.0 chemistry is the only class I need an A in.

Thanksgiving

I can't wait until thanksgiving, I love the vibe of being around family. This year we're going down to San Diego to my uncle's house,  I'm so excited, I haven't seen my mom's family in so long, most of my mom's family lives in southern california and my dad's side of the family lives here, in the bay area and in New York. And of course thanksgiving would be nothing without the delicious food.

Halloween

Halloween was so much fun, I went trick or treating with my little brother, Nicolas. After trick or treating I met up with some of my friends, in downtown and we went to dinner. It was so fun, I was out 'till 12:00a.m., I didn't get that much candy but it's okay because I can always steal some from my brother (=.

11-01-08

Yesterday was really fun, I went to Santa Cruz with my dad and brothers. I really love the beach, It relaxes me and makes me feel like I'm in my element. The only bad thing about yesterday is that it rained all day. Overall yesterday was a really sick day.

School

At times I wish I was a student at Lincoln High School to be around all my friends from middle school and to be in the school's orchestra. I was really mad when I didn't get in freshmen year because it was really full and the was no space. On the other hand I'm happy that I didn't get in because I've met a lot of cool people at Gunderson.  I'm now on the waiting list but it doesn't matter because I'm enjoying the time I spend at Gunderson.

How can people live in rural places??

I went to Modesto over the weekend to visit my grandma and on the way there I saw acres of farm land and trees. It smelled like poop at one point of the trip and there were houses meshed in with the crops. When we finally arrive in Modesto, it's a totally different vibe than San Jose and it seems dead there. There isn't that much stuff you can do there either, I'm an urban kid and I could never imagine living in a rural place like Modesto.

Old Friends

I can't wait 'till halloween, I'm gonna go trick or treating with some friends from Lincoln. I can't wait , it's been so long since I've seen them. In fact the last time I've seen some of them was 8th grade, I still obviously keep in contact with them but haven't seen them. My friends and I are thinking of being ghosts, by putting sheets over our heads, I know it's ghetto but, it's still a costume.

It's funny...

When my mom and I go out to the store and just start having a conversation in spanish and people stare. It's also funny how people have a set image of what a mexican looks like. I have cousins who look asian and white and there mexican. It's sad how groups of society have perceptions on what people look like according to their ethnicity.

Insomnia

Last night I couldn't sleep at all! I kept tossing and turning throughout the night, it really sucked. I eventually fell asleep at like 10:00 a.m. and woke up at 4 o'clock. It feels really weird, like I'm in a different time zone or something. Anyways I wasted a Sunday by sleeping, as my dad said but, I think that sleeping is rather productive.

Race..Ethnicity?

Today in Chemistry class the juniors were not there and we had a small class, so we had a class discussion about topics that involved how teachers act and the way they teach and somehow we got into a discussion of how people in America view race and ethnicity as opposed to people in Europe, when asking for it on a survey or just in general. For example in Europe Spanish are considered white and in America they are Hispanic/Latino.? I personally think that when they ask for your ethnicity or race on a survey or whatever they shouldn't make it so complicated and specific.

Periodic Trends

Today, I had a test on Periodic Trends in Chemistry. It was really hard because I didn't study. I got some of the questions but, most of them were tough. I checked online what  got on the test and I got a D+. This is what I get for not studying.  On the other hand it really didn't affect my grade as bad as I thought, because I still have an A-.

Sophomores 2011!

So today was the rally and it was really fun. Our class actually said a chant this year! I was told though , that half of the people were saying the chant and the other half was just sitting there.  It was still great because the half that did do our class chant made up for the other.

Mexico

Me and my family go to Guadalajara, Mexico over the summer. While in Mexico we go and visit my grandma and other family members, we also go to other parts of Mexico, like Puerto Vallarta, because of its beaches. I really like Mexico a lot because you feel free there and I like how they have liquor stores at every corner and the variety of candies and chips they have there, plus it's cheap for snacks there.

Hot Seat

I was really nervous about the hot seat today , it's not just the fact that I might not know the word but, the waiting I have to endure. Thank god I wasn't chosen today, it was such a relief. On the other hand I was kinda excited about it because the suspense of who is going to be chosen next is kind of a rush, I guess.? But now I have to memorize twenty new words as it can be from any 3 units we've covered, counting next weeks words.

Antigone or Oedipus?

I prefer the story Antigone over Oedipus because the story line was easier to understand. I also liked how Antigone stood her ground when addressing Creon about her true feelings about him, his laws, and her loyalty which lied with her brother, Polyneices. The end of Antigone was more tragic than Oedipus because more people died, such as: Antigone, Haemon (Creon's son), and Eurydice (Creon's wife).  At the end Creon blamed the death of his son on himself, pretty sad how this story played out.

Lakeview Terrace

I went to go see "Lakeview Terrace", which is a movie filled with suspense. The movie is about a couple who moves to the Los Angeles hills, in a home next to a cop, who later on in the movie starts to harass themre and more as the movie progresses. The cop is played by Samuel L. Jackson. I really don't want to spoil the movie, I blogged to recommend it. One thing I didn't like about the movie is how it ended. It's one of those kinds of movies that ends and leaves questions in your mind about the outcome of what happened, it just doesn't seem complete.

Antigone

"The time I’ll have to please the dead is far longer than the time Ive to please the living.  With the dead I’ll be for ever. "  This quote shows Antigone's true loyalty, which is to her brother. Her mentality of thinking is deeper than just what is happening at the present time but, the future and to an even greater extent which is after death, once she's in the underworld with her brothers again. Her sister Ismene is reluctant to help Antigone give her brother, Polyneices a proper burial, because she dosen't want to go against the city of Thebes, so Antigone tells hers not to worry so much and not to betray her brother, but Ismene still does not agree to help, so Antigone does it on her own, making this a secret between the two.

Oedipus

Oedipus was a really good greek tragedy. The story itself was really crazy though because, it had to do with things that are nasty and really odd now a days. For example: Oedipus killed his father and had babies with his mother. Even though Oedipus didn't know it was his father who he killed and mother that he slept with until the end of the story, it still is weird and really sad when he finds out he did these shameful things. At the end of the story Oedipus gauges his eyes out because, according to him, he won't ever see anymore "joy." He also is banished because he said at one point of the story that whoever killed Laius should be banished from Thebes. From this story came a term called Oedipus Complex, which is when a child feels sexual desire for the parent of the opposite sex and desires the death of the parent of the same sex.

Cartoons.....These Days!?

What is up with the cartoons these days?. Seriously, most of them are in some way sexually orientated or racist. For example, the other day my little brother was watching "Total Drama Island" and this girl's top came off, not showing her melons but, you get the point. Another example of that show is when a white guy said that this black guy couldn't swim. Overall, the cartoons these days are crazy!! I really think that t.v. is turning pro-sex, I guess sex really does sell, enough to show this kind of behavior on children's shows.

Algebra 1 Class

Last year my Algebra 1 class was so crazy!! The class was really fun, mostly because we could almost do anything we wanted. The teacher would yell at us then would be like as if nothing happened and would be nice and start laughing. (Bi-polar or what!?). Besides the teachers' episodes the class was awesome and entertaining. It's really funny to watch students and teachers argue over dumb things like sharpening your pencil with a little mini sharpener in front of class. I know that were supposed to respect and follow the teachers instructions, but I guess our class was special that way.

"Sinus Problems!!"

So, I know the title of my entry is über random, but it has to do with this sinus congestion I've had for over three-days! To tell you the truth it's really getting on my last nerve. I constantly have to have kleenex with me, which makes me feel like some old person. I'm saying that because old people, well at least my grandma, always have kleenex or disinfectant wipes in their pockets, bag, purse, and you get the point. Anyway, I basically blogged to vent out my feelings on this congestion, "like this will get rid of it.?" And yes I've taken medicine, hopefully this seemingly endless sinus problem will end soon.

"New Year , New Friends"

It's a new school year and so far it's going good. I have a new group of people I hang out with and its been fun so far.  My new friends aren't really new "per say", because I met them last year, but this year I actually hang out with them at lunch, opposed to last year when I really only talked to them in Algebra 1 class, which is where I met most of them. I have to admit my friends are weird at times, but I don't care because I can be weird at times too. Regardless of their silliness or weirdness their unique personalities are the reason I'm friends with them.
